The choice between heating or eating is real. Since the hike in gas prices and food going up as of late, we have started receiving more and more referals, although officially we ended the food parcel distribution project, but circumstances and seeing the desperation of people necessitate that we don’t turn our backs on people. Families being moved homes with short notice and hardly anything to go with them, people on extremely low benefits struggling to make ends meet , having to count every penny and make choices between heating or eating leading to poor health, anxiety , depression, isolation due to lack of confidence … A family we assisted earlier this week, elderly couple, severely malnourished due to very low income and not enough money to even pay for medication or attend hospital appointments… These are just some of the scenarios we have been dealing with. Thank you for your continued support to planet mercy , without it we wouldn’t be able to reach out to such families and provide the necessary personalised support that they require, your donations are a real lifeline for such families.
