Food Distribution
Community Food Kitchen
Engaging in the noble act of providing food, Planet Mercy has been operating community food kitchens since 2009, serving over 15,000 hot meals to date. Our kitchens welcome individuals facing hardships from all backgrounds, creating an environment that fosters socialization, friendship, and support. Alongside hot meals, we offer a listening ear and a caring heart. Through these interactions, we identify the unique needs of our service users and provide tailored assistance, ranging from financial to welfare-related support. The cost to run a single kitchen is approximately £400. You can sponsor a kitchen or contribute towards it with any generous intention.
Emergency Food Parcel Service
The need for emergency food parcels emerged during the Covid-19 lockdown, as people were isolating and facing financial difficulties due to work disruptions. Even after the pandemic, the demand for food parcels persists as individuals continue to face economic challenges. Our standard food parcels include bread, eggs, fruit, vegetables, tinned food, and snacks, though we accommodate specific needs as required. So far, we have delivered over 10,000 parcels, valued at more than £50,000. Each parcel costs between £15 and £20. You can donate single or multiple parcels to support this initiative.
Homeless Outreach Program
For several years, our dedicated team has been providing food and comfort to the homeless and needy in Manchester, Bolton, and Preston every fortnight. We prepare and distribute 100-110 lunches, which include a variety of items such as snacks. As part of our outreach, we also spend time with those we serve, offering emotional support and occasionally delivering winter essentials and other necessities. The cost to run a single Homeless Outreach Program is around £200. You can sponsor an entire feed or make a partial contribution towards this compassionate effort.
